Italy Minori, Italy

A view of the town Minori which is part of the Amalfi Coast in southern Italy. This was taken from a ferry boat as we passed along the coast. Minori is located just a bit east of Amalfi. The coastline is very beautiful with many good opportunities to take photos.

Obviously you will need a boat to get this shot! There is a convenient ferry which connects the major towns along the Amalfi Coast. It's a large boat which helps to minimize the "chop" of the waves.

This was shot at 17mm on a Nikon crop sensor camera (so about 26mm full frame) @ 1/60 sec, 100 ISO, f/11. I would recommend a wide to medium focal length lens. Adjust your aperture and ISO as necessary to get a non-blurry shot. Try to time the shutter at the peak / valley of the waves.

I would recommend taking one of the last ferries later in the evening when the sun begins setting and illuminates the clouds. If you do take the last ferry you can easily catch a bus back to whatever town you're staying for only 2 euro.

There is ferry which connects to all the major towns along the Amalfi coast (listed east to west): Positano, Amalfi, Minori, Maiori, Cetara, and Salerno.
