Italy Tremosine (Lago di Garda)

Tremosine with it´s major part of the town called Pieve, is my favourite place to stay at the Lago di Garda. It is located 400m above the lake directly build on the top of the sharp cliff. Some houses are build above the cliff and offer a breathtaking view over the lake. Pieve has a very nice old centre with nice houses, pubs and restaurants. Most visitors come only for a day trip. So at day time it can sometimes be a bit crowded, but the rest of the day and in the evening it is very quiet and cozy.

As usual best times are early morning and late evening.

The direct road to Tremosine (Pieve) is quite challenging and only for experienced car drivers. Coming from North (Riva) you have to take a sharp right turn about 10km behind Limone sur Garda. Sometimes the road is very narrow and twisting. If there is opposing traffic you may need to drive back for some way. So driving backwards some narrow and twisting road should not be a problem for you.
