Photography Tips

The haiden faces roughly southward. Best time to take photos is early morning. Avoid any time after 10am (particularly on weekends) unless you intend to see a crowded place.

Also, don't forget to visit the garden (fee required) and annexed shrines and other buildings.

Travel Information

Taga taisha is best reached from Kyoto by train via Hikone. From Tokyo you'd go via Shinkansen to Maibara, then change for Hikone and Tagataisha-mae.
