Japan Asakichi Ryokan
This is a building called Asakichi Ryokan, which is similar to a hotel. It was built over 200 years ago and was famous as a red-light district at the time. Naturally, prostitution has been prohibited for over 100 years, so after the ban, it has been operating as a ryokan, and you can still stay there today.
Photography Tips
To capture its charm, the time after sunset is recommended. The atmosphere is very nice when the lights are on, and the ryokan begins to function. You cannot take photos inside the ryokan unless you are staying there, but you can freely take photos of the exterior using a tripod.
Travel Information
Take the Shinkansen to Nagoya, and from there, a limited express train will get you to Isuzugawa Station in one hour. From there, it's a 15-minute walk.
