Japan Tenku-no Torii

The photo shows the view over Tenku no torii to Mt. Fuji. The torii is still quite new but is so popular that visiting times are very regulated. However, you can still visit before and after the official opening hours and enjoy the view.

Photography Tips

We liked to take the photo from the same height as the torii. Integrating a person creates a reference to the image. We stayed until the blue hour, because only then could we see Mount Fuji. A telephoto lens works well to optimize the size ratio between the torii and Fuji.

Travel Information

You can take public transport in town and then you have to walk 30 minutes up to get there.

Great photo! How crowded was it when you went? Did you have to pay? I've heard that a small donation is required since it's on private land, and that there are now long queues for this photo.
