Japan Korakuen, Okayama
Korakuen is a traditional 19th century Japanese garden, established in the 18th century, in the heart of the city of Okayama. It offers spectacular scenic views in accordance with Japanese aesthetics, blending the garden with the surrounding landscape. Okayama Castle is also located on the grounds. Although Okayama castle is merely a facade of the original castle, it is still a dramatic and imposing monument to this town's medieval history.

Autumn and Spring offer the most dramatic views of this garden. There is a small fee to enter the garden.
Travel Information
Okayama can be reached on the West Japan Shinkansen line. Trams connect the main station to Korakuen Garden.
