Kyrgyz Republic Kol Tor Lake (At Bashi Region)
Kol Tor Lake in the Bashi Region with its super blue water is a really unknown spot in Kyrgyzstan. So probably there are some locals, but no tourists (2024). The view from the viewpoint is breathtaking.
Photography Tips
Use a drone for the full panorama of the lake inside the mountain range. Make sure you habe a valid flight license with you.
Travel Information
The way to the parking spot is off-road over gravel and muddy roads. Make sure you have a good 4x4 car or a driver that knows the region. You could stuck in the mud a lot of times.
The hike by itself with short distances and minimal elevation gain make this suitable for trekkers of all levels. For one distance you need to hike 2km with an elevation of around 166 meters. From the bottom of the lake you need to hike around 500 meters extra distance and around 100 meters in elevation. Attention: After heavy rain the lake has two much water and the hiking path to the viewpoint is flooded. Therefore you need to take a steep slippery off road trek like we did. It is risky so make sure you are a really good experienced hiker.
