The area around Kel-Suu Lake is a hiking paradise that is still virtually undeveloped. A few yurt camps serve as base camps.

You can hike into the riverbed in the opposite direction to the camps or drive and enjoy the sunrise from here without much effort. From here you have a full view of the entire south side of the southern Tian Shan mountains.

Look along the riverbed for calmer water with small outlets that can then create a reflection. Carefully position your camera directly at the edge of the water to get as much reflection as possible.

On foot, it takes about an hour to walk 4 kilometers from the various camps. By car, you can reach the spot in around 20-25 minutes. A 4x4 car is mandatory, otherwise you could very quickly get stuck in the wet riverbed.

As the area is close to the Chinese border, there are checkpoints along the route that you have to pass through. You can request and obtain the permit issued by the government via various tourist boards. We got this through Terra Montis Adventure.
