Kyrgyz Republic Glacier river crossing, Kakschaaltoo Mountain Range
The Kakshaaltoo mountain range near the Chinese border offers numerous hiking and climbing opportunities. Solitude is written in capital letters here. You won't meet anyone. Here you can feel the wilderness of the vast valleys of Kyrgyzstan even more clearly and intensely.
Photography Tips
A drone gives you a good overview of the landscape and shows you even more clearly what terrain you are moving through. Change the angle slightly downwards to create more dynamics in the image.
Travel Information
Unfortunately, the most beautiful mountain range in Kyrgyzstan is also the most difficult to reach. Only the most experienced drivers in the Naryn region dare to go here and never drive alone. Due to the proximity to the Chinese border, you pass through two military posts and need a special permit from the government, which you can obtain from tourism associations such as TerraMontis etc! The small path, which is initially still on gravel and sandy roads and really not well developed, leads over some huge old drinking water pipes that are in danger of collapsing. Then the driver has to find a suitable spot over the constantly changing large river, which, depending on the rainfall, is comparable to the strongest rivers in Iceland. There is less than a 50/50 chance.
