Latvia Majori beach

Majori beach (and its neighbouring beaches) is a long long stretch of sand which is great for seaside walks. The area is especially lively in the summer when it's warm a number of cafes spring along the beach. But it's beautiful any time of the year.

Photography Tips

The beach is clean and well taken care of. Unfortunately, that means that there's not much foreground interest in the form of rocks or debris. So you would need some creativity. The best time for photography is obviously sunset, so make sure to bring your tripod and filters. There are usually quite a few people around and it's completely safe.

Travel Information

By car (in summer you'd have to pay 2 EUR to enter Jurmala limits, but parking is then free). Or take a train from Riga up to Majori station - the beach is a short 10-minute walk from the station.
