Lithuania Žalieji Ežerai, Vilnius
A nice group of lakes a short distance from Vilnius, surrounded by forests and with a few swimming beaches during the summer (honestly, it does get warm enough to swim here sometimes, but just barely.)
Lithuania can be sad and gray during the winter months, but rest of the year, it should be pretty easy to find the beautiful bits.

Photography Tips
You're far enough from the city to get some passable shots of the night sky, but unfortunately, with Vilnius almost directly to the south, catching the best views of the Milky Way can be tricky.
This is the spot I watch the Pleiades meteor shower each year.

Travel Information
There are a few parking lots near swimming beaches, but for the most part, there isn't. Park on the side of the dirt roads and walk a little way to the lake. (I park my car near the little clearing to the south of the lake.)
