Luxembourg Gorges du Loup

Gorge du Loupe, also known as Wolfsschlucht or Wollefsschlucht, is a remarkable natural monument located in Echternach, Luxembourg. Impressive Rock Formations: The gorge is known for its impressive rock formations with walls rising up to 50 meters in height. These formations were created when blocks of Luxembourg sandstone separated from the sandstone plateau along valley-parallel cracks. The area around the Wolfsschlucht stands out for its moss- and fern-rich ravine forest.

As this location is within the forests and light will only break thru at special day times, you should prepare and plan your visit. However, any daytime is good, even with overcast conditions. You may want to bring a tripod and yes photograph a panorama and stich a high mega pixel image together or even make a 360° pano here.

To get to Gorge du Loupe (Wolfsschlucht) in Echternach, Luxembourg, you can take the local hiking trail E1. This trail connects Echternach with two of the most impressive geological highlights of the region, namely the Gorges du Loup and the Huel Lee in Berdorf.

As for parking, there are a few options available:
- There is a parking lot at Montee de Trooskneppchen. (Short Distance, but only a few parking lots)
- You can also park at "Melick", a few meters behind the Melickshof. (Medium Distance)
- Another option is the parking at Lake Echternach, located at Rue Grégoire Schouppe, L-6479 Echternach. (Longer Distance)

From these parking areas, you can start your hike to the Gorge du Loupe. Enjoy your visit!
