This is not the greatest photo, but definitely the greatest flower :)
The Rafflesia flower can be more then 1 meter in diameter. The lifetime of the flower is just a few days. So no guarantee that you will find one when you go to this location, but there is a high chance as this area is famous for it.

Looks pretty crazy and I've never seen that before! I would have imagined that there are very much tourists around when these are blooming, aren't they?

Hi Manuel, I have been at Borneo in March. Many people say the best time is April to October. So, maybe during these months there are more tourists around. In this natur park near Lundu there is also a nice waterfall and many plants and wildlife to see. At the waterfall we met some other tourists and some locals kids were swimming and playing. So not many people. On our way back through the rainforest we had heavy rainfalls. Maybe that´s the reason why not many people go there. But for me rainforest without any rain does not make sense. Rain creates a very special mood and the best time in a rainforest is always when it stops raining.

Totally agree with you! Really nice to hear your "background thoughts", because that is what I would have asked myself probably when I wanted to go there. But sounds like a really nice place overall, even if the flower isn't blooming during that period. Is there any time window with a higher chance to see that or is it just pure luck and it depends on every flower?

To my knowledge there is no real blooming season. It is obviously a matter of luck.
