Mexico Blowholes on the Other Side
This is a rocky spot on the coast where the waves have undercut the shoreline. Waves come in, go into the underwater tunnel, and spray out of an opening in the surface.
Photography Tips
It's easy to reach this spot and easy to shoot. You MUST wear shoes of some kind - the rocks are "iron shore" and very sharp. At certain times of year the seaweed is thick enough to plug up the water passage and the blowholes don't work.
Travel Information
This spot is on the "other side" of Cozumel island. Take the circular road around the island in either direction. This spot is nearer the southern end of the island. Drive a few minutes north of the beach bar "Bar Miami" until you see the water spraying up. It's not marked. The pin on the map is approximate. There's a wide spot on the shoulder of the road where you can pull off and park.
