Mongolia Small Switzerland River Valley, Khurgan Lake
The area around the two fresh water lakes Khurgan Lake and Khoton Lake is well known as small Switzerland. In comparison to the other landscapes in the Altai Tavan Bogd National Park, this area is lush green and looks like the Alps.
Photography Tips
Make sure to take several layers of color into your frame here. Start with a greenish foreground, the river and then following along interesting subjects, such as trees, the mountains etc.
Travel Information
In order to get here, you need a car. Either you rent one yourself or you get a driver. Recommended is a proper 4x4 car. To enter this area, you need a border permit to the Chinese border. There are checkpoints around the lakes before you pass the bridge.
