Namibia Sunsets on 'The Bridge', Spitzkoppe
In the midst of the dusty desert landscape in northern Namibia, Spitzkoppe is located about 120 kilometres from the town of Swakopmund in the Erongo region.
More than 100 million years ago, this mountain range was formed from volcanic activity. The softer cap rock was eroded away over millions of years by wind erosion until only the hard granite rock remained in the form of sometimes very bizarre rock formations.
The highlight is the large rock arch (The Bridge). With the mountains in the background, it provides a perfect backdrop for spectacular photos.
