Namibia Classic car wrecks, Solitaire
I visited this place while traveling all around Africa solo (but with my Rhodesian Ridgeback) in my Land Rover in 2014. Here's an extract from my book:
'Percy Cross McGregor (a.k.a Moose), the iconic pastry chef of the Namib Desert, is dead, but Solitaire isn’t. Tour groups come and go. The character of the old fuel station, in the middle of nowhere, is perhaps best kept alive by the wrecks of the classic cars.
Moose put the small settlement of Solitaire on the map, by providing his world-famous German apple crumble (Apfelstrudel) to weary travelers filling up their fuel tanks.'

Photography Tips
I used bracketing to make HDR images in post-processing.
If you like details, it's good to bring a variety of lenses. From wide angles to capture as many cars as possible in one frame, to telephoto lenses to get closer and photograph details of the old wrecks.

Travel Information
It's right in the middle of nowhere, called solitaire.
A famous cafe also serves apple pie and other great meals in the nearby restaurant. Using the actual gas station to fill your car before you leave to explore different parts of Namibia is also a good idea.
