Sunrise at Poon Hill - The spectacular peaks of the Annapurna Himal in central Nepal are a perfect photography opportunity of the Himalayan giants.

Don't forget to bring your tripod to make long exposures. I recommend layered clothing because the hike can be strenous but at the peak it is freezing cold which is why you definitely want to have gloves and a warm jacket.

You have to climb the summit of Poon Hill early in the morning to get the breathtaking view of some of Nepal’s highest and most dramatic peaks, including three of the world’s fourteen 8000m peaks: Dhaulagiri, Annapurna I and Manaslu. Booking a room in the village Ghorepani, 300 metres in altitude below the peak, is the nearest accomodation available. The short hike from the village to the top of Poon Hill takes about 45 minutes. Make sure to get up really early to catch the entire dawn until sunrise.
