Nepal Chukhung

Chukhung is a small lovely mountain village and the climbing gate to Island peak. From here, many expeditions starting. You can really feel the climbing vibe and it's surrounded by beautiful mountains.

Photography Tips

Walk behind the village to get some of the old traditional houses in the frame together with the mountains. Expose for the highlights when the first sun hits the mountain peaks.

Travel Information

Chukhung is situated at 4.730m and requires a good acclimatization. From Lukla you can basically follow the Everest Basecamp trek but then from Dingboche, go further up in the direction of Chukhung instead of to Basecamp.
