The postcard shot of Dunedin: the cabbage tree of Otago Peninsula is said to be the most photographed cabbage tree on New Zealand and lags only behind that Wanaka tree.

This is best shot in the morning and late autumn or winter when the sun rotates further north.

Travel Information

Travel by car to the peninsula and get onto Highcliff Rd travelling west to east. Start looking for this shot on the left side of the road after passing the turnoff for the Trooper's Memorial. If you pass Karetai Rd you've gone too far. There is parking at the turnoff.
