New Zealand Summit Road, Christchurch

Summit Road runs along the rim of Diamond Harbor and offers a wide range of views out over Christchurch, Diamond Habour, the coast and out over the plans to the mountains.

Try some telephoto shots if you can't find any interesting foreground or the sky is clear. Its a very expansive view, and unless you crop a wide angle shot into a panorama, or have a interesting sky or foreground, there will be a lot of nothing in the shot.

Head up Dyers Pass Road to the Summit Road intersection and turn left for view over the city or right for view views over the plans. Both ways will also provide views down into Diamond Harbor.
If you turn right, the road is blocked near the gondola, so cannot be driven right through to Sumner but still offers a a wide range of shooting opportunities at all times of the day.
