New Zealand Skippers Canyon
Skippers is an old gold mining village in the back country near Queenstown. It is only accessible by 4WD and it is a fairly hairy road to get there with numerous river crossings.
There are commercial tours that will take you in but are normally for bungy jumping or rafting. Neither will come this far up they valley.
Not accessible in winter but lovey colours in autumn.
The Canyon shot is from back down the road.
