Iconic image of the 60-million-year-old spherical boulders that line the beach at Moeraki, believed by the Maori to have been the food containers of the gods who populated New Zealand from Hawaiiki.

Travel Information

Parking is available at either the DOC parking lot, from where you walk along the beach for a bit to reach the boulders, or at the Boulders Café parking lot, where there is a set of stairs leading closer to the boulders, though here they request a $2 donation for upkeep.
