New Zealand Koropuku Falls
One of the nicer waterfalls in the Catlins, where there are plenty, this has an awesome walk through primeval, untouched forest and is quite remote with very few people.
Photography Tips
It is low light so you will need a tripod and a wide angle lens. Set the aperture and ISO to give a shutter speed of at least 0.5s. My picture was in March with very low water flow; it would be better in winter or spring when the flow is higher.
Travel Information
This can be tough to find. It is on the western edge of the Catlins so you will probably come from the east on the Chasland Highway. When you pass the sign entering Southland start looking for the small sign saying Koropuku Falls on the right hand side (north). It is a 15 minute walk through an incredible forest to the falls.
