New Zealand Mokoroa Falls
Mokoroa Falls is one of the least spectacular waterfalls in the Waitakere ranges, west of Auckland, made worse by there being no real rain in the months before these shots. However, its quite accessible and there is a good lookout point across from it. The native forest in the area is not too dense and there is a good path through it.
Photography Tips
Standard to wide angle lens. If you want low ISOs, a tripod will be useful; even on a sunny day, the forest absorbs a lot of light.
Travel Information
Access to the track is from Horsman Road, Waitakere, about 45 Kms from downtown Auckland. There is parking but not a lot. There are paths onto other waterfalls and views in the area, signposted with estimates of how long it will take to walk them.
