As I landed on the drop zone of the Tasman Glacier, the whirring sound of the heli faded away. And suddenly everything went eerily quiet. That's when the truth dawned on me, of how, within the formidable wall of this alpine fortress, I am insignificant, just like a speck of dust, and fragile and brittle, just like clay. Truly a self-defining moment. A lifetime experience!
