New Zealand Nugget Point Lighthouse
The lighthouse located in the Otago Region was first lit in 1870 and was fully automated in 1989. The reason it is called Nugget Point is the rocks in the water to the right hand side of the lighthouse look like Nuggets.
Travel Information
Quick drive from Balclutha. Parking is available. It is about a 10 min walk from the car park to the lighthouse although it is fenced off.
