This is a beautiful, old, stone church on the shores of Lake Tekapo with the southern alps in the background making for a great composition. It also lies on the tourist bus route and can be crowded.

Photography Tips

I don't have a great shot here but this site is worth noting as it lies within the New Zealand Dark Sky Reserve. There are great possibilities for astrophotography with the Milky Way rising up behind the church. It would be worth staying up to leave the tourist hoards behind.

Travel Information

Drive to Lake Tekapo and the little village to find the church on the south shore. There is ample parking.
