New Zealand Motukiekie Beach, Starfish Colony
Motukiekie Beach is a less known beach for people to go for. After a beautiful hike along the beach, there's stunning rock formations and a massive cliff side, hiding this true gem from the street.
The best kept secret of this beach is the big starfish colony hanging on the rocks outside in front of the stacks.

Photography Tips
Just take your camera. Leave the rest of the gear behind since it can get quite wet in here. You would need a super wide angle. Photo stacking of 2 focus shifts comes in handy later.
Travel Information
Motukiekie Beach is only accessible on low tide situations. The tides are quite strong here and you should take good care on your timing. There is no real parking lot along the way. However, you can find a small spot north off the beach and then make yourself a small little scramble down the rock pile.
Super important is, that this spot is ONLY accessible 10-15 minutes around the lowest LOW TIDE. Wave power here is super strong and the rocks stand out in quite deep water quite early after tide shift. Take massive care here or you will be washed out on the rocks.
