Norway Mølen beach of the rolling stones, near Larvik
Mølen, near Larvik, is Norway's largest beach of rolling stones. Rocky shoreline makes a perfect foreground for the landscape image. Sun is setting right in the sea, although it's the best angle of the setting sun you will find in January and February. It's a perfect spot to shot waves crashing a huge boulder, and in the middle of the winter sun is setting right over this boulder, making splashing waves dramatically backlit.
Photography Tips
You should properly dress up because the wind from the sea and showers from the splashing waves can get you really cold and wet. Also, you should have some cloth to clean the front element of your lens and, if your camera system is not weather and waterproof, grab some extra cloth or plastic bag to cover and protect your equipment.
Travel Information
Take the E18 highway to Kristiansand, and right after Larvik tunnel, take the right exit and follow the roadsigns to Mølen, Nevlunghavn. You should stay on road No. 302. And at the end of the road, you will find a free parking spot just a couple of steps away from the boulder beach.
