A scening, isolated, hard to get to beach where you could make yourself believe you are alone on the planet.

Photography Tips

The beach is surrounded by cliffs, and the one to the north can be easily reached. The drop is just shy of 600 meters. You can shoot the cliffs from the beach or the beach from the cliffs. Prepare for windy conditions and fast changing weather.

Since the latitude is almost 70°N (north of the Arctic Circle), expect big difference in light and temperature between Summer and Winter. During high summer, the sun never sets, while in the middle of the winter it never rises.

During August-September it's the most confortable, as the sun is setting during nights and the temperatures are pleasant (5-15°C). Those months also correspond to high chances of visible Aurora.

The other Aurora season represents February-March, but then the temperatures are close to or below freezing, while the winds can be unforgiving. Hiking is deffinitely more challenging under winter conditions due to the many rocks that get covered in ice.

Travel Information

You can reach this beach only by boat or hiking there.

You can hire a local to take you there by boat, however, part of the adventure is to hike there.

The hiking route is easy enough to not require any special equipment (other than a good pair of hiking boots and some drinking water). There are two main hiking routes that reach the beach, and both of them start from places where the car can be parked. Reserve 90 minutes for reaching the beach.

There is also possibility to spend the night in a camping tent at the edge of the beach. Please consider the nature and don't leave anything behind.
