This Area with it's three beautiful beaches (Vik, Haukland and Uttakleiv) is a very good area for taking pictures of the polar light.

Photography Tips

To recognize the aurora even when it is not very active, you can take pictures with your smartphone if it is not too old. The photos will show you when there is some color in the sky and then you can point your camera in that direction.
The rocks can form a beautiful foreground with a fresh layer of snow.
