Norway Sund Fiskerimuseum

Vest Lofoten's first tourist attraction founded by Hans Gjertsen in 1963.

Sund Fiskerimuseum reflects coastal culture from 1850-1970 and has a rich selection of boats, boat engines and other objects donated by the local population over time.

In addition, the Museum has its own blacksmith who carries on the tradition of the blacksmith's joint that Hans Gjertsen created in his time, The joint is the first local souvenir that was produced with a view to marketing Lofoten as a tourist attraction, Hans Gjertsen was honored by King Olav and King Harald for his efforts as an art blacksmith and pioneer in the tourism industry in the region. Tor-Vegard Mørkved was apprenticed to Hans Gjertsen from 1987 until he took over the forge in 1989, Smia operates Tor-Vegard alone and in 1999 took over responsibility for the entire museum complex.
