Panama View of Panama City
Nice view over the bay.
Panama City, the modern capital of Panama, is located on the Pacific Ocean and the Panama Canal. Casco Viejo, the old town, is known for its colonial-era sights, including the presidential palace and the bougainvillea-covered plazas lined with cafés and bars. From the Miraflores Locks, you can watch the ships on the Panama Canal, an important shipping route connecting the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans

Travel Information
I spent about a month here wandering all over town, day and night. No problems whatsoever. The coastline is nice. Perhaps the only spot in town. Otherwise, it's a very dense and somewhat dirty metropolis. The US dollar is widely accepted and perhaps the dominant currency. I did however find religious tension in certain areas.
