Beautiful spot with photo opportunities all over the place. Definitely an underrated spot in Peru.

You can bring a tripod if you want, but the area is protected enough that the water is pretty still all the time. I shot handheld all day. He said the spot is beautiful for sunrises too, though.

You need to buy a ticket in San Pedro de Casta on your way to the spot. It's 20/S. The road to town is very steep and gravel. We did fine in a 2WD truck, but has some water crossings, so be aware. It's a 3K hike to the peaks from the parking area. Very steep with about 1000+' of elevation gain. When you get to the first lake, you're working around 12,500'. Well worth it.
