Philippines Little Maosanon Island
Little Maosanon is an uninhabited island, one of the Linapacan Islands off the north-east coast of Palawan in the Philippines. You can visit the islands as part of a multi-day excursion to Coron further north or just as a one-day trip from Sibaltan on Palawan via a local tour operator. Unlike El Nido on the other side of the island, there are very few people here, this area is much less developed and the snorkelling here is amazing, the coral is absolutely pristine and the water incredibly clear.
Photography Tips
Biggest tip, take your photo gear in a dry bag unless it's waterproof. The crossing to the islands on small outrigger boats can be rough and if so you will get drenched! But do take a camera that's capable of underwater images, you won't want to miss capturing the corals!
Travel Information
I went with a local operator "Tour Linapacan". Tours depart from Sibaltan but they can organise minibus transfers from the El Nido area for an extra fee if you can't get yourself to Sibaltan by scooter.
