Portugal Carrasqueira at sunset
About an hour and 30 minutes from Lisbon, Carrasqueira is a traditional village within the Comporta Estate. The Cais Palafitico takes you back in history to see how the local fishermen have set sail from this destination for years.
Photography Tips
For long exposure, you will need a tripod, but please keep in mind that the jetties are wobbly and the wooden bars are loose or have holes in them. Make sure your tripod is stable. A 24-70mm or 16-35mm are just fine. Watch out how you walk and make sure you look back before pressing the shutter to see if no people are approaching as the jetty will shake. It is however unlikely to find too many tourists or photographers there.
Travel Information
You will need a car BUT watch out how you drive, the dirt way approaching the spot is full of holes and if you want to spare your tires, you'll have to drive in slaloms :-)
