Portugal Clam digger at Praia do Barril, Algarve, Portugal

The beach was almost deserted at the end of October. Vastness, light and cloud formations make for very interesting design possibilities.

Praia do Barril beach is located on Ilha do Tavira. It is the only one on the island that is connected to the mainland by a footbridge. The bridge is located at the edge of the village of Pedras D'el Rei. From there, it is just over a kilometre to the beach. Alternatively, you can cover the distance by mini-train, which used to transport supplies.
