Carrapateira is a small village at the western coast of the Algarve. Famous as a surf spot it also offers plenty of opportunities to capture images of the unique landscape as well as is splendid flora.

Photography Tips

Be prepared for strong (or even very strong) winds. These are especially challenging for macro photography. Think of a wind shield (even it is only your camera bag).
For shooting with wide angle lenses you should use a heavy tripod.

Travel Information

A small road leads from the village to the dunes. Parking is available before the ascent to the cliffs.
