Portugal Praia da Barriga, Western Algarve
The beach from Praia da Barriga to Praia da Cordoama and Praia do Castelejo is one of the largest and wildest beaches in the western Algarve. While there are many surfers in and around the water at the last two sections mentioned, this section is very deserted, so you have this large beach with its high dark cliffs almost to yourself. Breathtaking!
Photography Tips
Use the water as a foreground and work with a telephoto lens. This photo was taken with 240mm. The advantage of this is that you can emphasize the large black cliffs in comparison to a person and thus depict the size.
Travel Information
Turning off the N268, a gravel road leads down to the beach (marked parking spot). Please note that you should only drive this route with a 4x4 and clarify the necessary insurance with the rental car company. Once at the bottom, you have many 100 meters ahead of you to stroll along the beach.
