Portugal Praia da Cordoama, Western Algarve
The beach from Praia da Barriga to Praia da Cordoama and Praia do Castelejo is one of the largest and wildest beaches in the western Algarve. While there are many surfers in and around the water at the last two sections mentioned, the section between Barriga and Cordoama is very deserted, so you have this large beach with its high dark cliffs almost to yourself. Breathtaking and romantic!
Photography Tips
Watch out for the strong winds, which can be extreme here! Have a valid license. Due to the length of the beach, I also find it suitable to work with straight lines, as here with the beach.
Travel Information
Turning off the N268, a gravel road leads down to the beach (marked parking spot). Please note that you should only drive this route with a 4x4 and clarify the necessary insurance with the rental car company. Once at the bottom, you have many 100 meters ahead of you to stroll along the beach. As an alternative you can drive to "Bar da Praia", a paved road, but also occupied by more tourists.
