Of revivalist architecture, it was built by Jorge O'Neill and Francisco Vilaça in 1890 and stands out for its tower, with medieval characteristics (Torre de São Sebastião).
The building underwent expansion work when it was already in the possession of the Count of Castro Guimarães.
