Now days this construction is a garden surrounded by the old walls from the castle. With a beautiful landscape and sight to the tagus river. It opened in 1881 and has undergone several renovations since then.

Photography Tips

The spot its good for capturing the rise of the full moon aligned with the Tagus river and the sunrise at certain times of the year, but keep in mind that usually, the mornings are very foggy, so it makes the sunrise harder to capture.

Travel Information

You can get there by car or train, from Lisbon it's about 1 hour of travel with both. There is a generous parking space in the surroundings, and it is very easy to find a spot.
