A beautiful Levada hike taking you through the forest to a spectacular waterfall, with a few smaller waterfalls along the way. Takes about 1hr 45min each way (at a decent pace with multiple scenic stops) and then give yourself at least a half hour for the waterfall at the end. Can continue to another waterfall after as well to extend the hike (inferno). It is mostly flat the entire time, but it's very narrow so try to go early as later in the day you will constantly have to stop to let people pass (as it doesn't fit two people a lot of the time). There are also three tunnels in the hike (one is very small) so make sure to bring a headlamp (a phone flashlight isn't really going to help) and watch your head!

Photography Tips

Bring a tripod as even on sunny days, the forest can be dark and long exposure is often needed. (as well as there being many waterfalls). Be careful when flying a drone at the end of the hike as there is no GPS signal there so it is harder to fly and maximum altitude is limited (on Dji)

Travel Information

Arrive at this spot (Queimasdas Parking Lot). When I went parking was plentiful. You'll pass the traditional houses (a Cafe) and start the trail.
