Portugal Cabo Carvoeiro

Cabo Carvoeiro (or a similar place) is one of the most impressive spots on the Portuguese coast. Its sloping geological formations create a unique view, ideal for those who enjoy nature, photography, and that sea-scented wind. It's an excellent spot for watching the sunset or simply feeling the power of the ocean.

Light: Try to visit in the late afternoon to capture long shadows and golden tones (even though the photo here is in B&W).

Composition: Use the diagonal lines of the rocks to guide the eye into the image.

B&W or color: Black and white brings out the drama of the rock formations, but in color, you can capture the contrasts of sky, sea, and stone.

ND filter: If you want to experiment with long exposures of the sea, a neutral density filter can create that “velvety” effect in the water.

Access: Generally easy, with short trails and parking nearby.

Safety: Beware of strong winds and slippery edges.

Best time to visit: Spring and summer, when the weather is more stable and the skies are clearer.
