The upper pool of Caldeira Velha and its waterfall. The warm water comes from further up in the valley and feeds the pool after it goes over this crazy geological formation.

Photography Tips

Be the first person in the morning to enter the place, otherwise people will crowd the pool. It might be possible to have an empty pool in the evening just before closing, but this has yet to be confirmed

Travel Information

The area is fenced off, luckily it is just 2€ for the entry fee. so don't come way before 9am. If you arrive before 9am, parking is not a problem. Around 11am, the parking situation will already be aweful, so consider to schedule some time for parking during a day visit. From the gate it will be a 5min walk to the pools.
