Romania Latoritei Gorge
Latoritei Gorge ( Cheile Latoritei in Romanian) is a natural landmark that can be spotted in Valcea County, Romania. It is one of the most impressive landscapes of its type in the country, due to its wilderness and rich flora. The cliffs seem to embrace the little way that snickers along them at their bottoms. As you walk through the gorge, at the top you can find Petrimanu Lake and Yellow Lake.
Travel Information
By plane to Sibiu, then by car. As you come from Sibiu Town head towards Ramnicu Valcea Town. On the way, Pay attention to the signs because after about 70-80km you have to turn right heading Brezoi. From Brezoi, follow the road to Malaia Village (in Voineasa direction) and after exiting the village, pay attention to the signs and turn left to Ciungetu Village. As you cross the village on the main road, following the Latorita River, you will enter Latoritei Gorge. The road is an adventure, so try to drive a 4x4 car. Enjoy the nature surrounding you and drive carefully.
