Romania Secular Oak Forest of Mociar
The oldest oak tress in Romania can be found in this forest, one of the oldest in Europe too.
Travel Information
Situated near the city of Reghin in Mures county.
Only accessible on foot, going down the road you'll arrive to a stop at the entrance to the forest, you can leave the car there (make sure you're not blocking the entrance though) or there's a larger area around 500m by the side of the main road.
You need to walk into the forest by foot around 3 - 4 km to reach the reservation area.
There's also a southern entrance from the village called Beica de Sus which is closer to the area, but it's a dirt road not very suitable for cars and you'll reach somebody's ranch at the end, where you need to ask permission to leave your car.
