Romania The Great Square (Piata Mare)

The Great Square (Piata Mare) is the historical centre of Sibiu with the Council Tower (Turnul Sfatului), the Jesuit Church, the Town Hall, the Bruckenthal Museum and magnificent town houses. It also offers many photo opportunities, but is more difficult to photograph than the Small Market, for example, due to its size.

The square is particularly photogenic during the golden and blue hour, although it can be quite crowded then. If the whole expanse of the square is to be captured, the patterns of the pavement are well suited as guiding lines and for a structure in the picture. Switched-on lanterns make the picture more varied and create a warm light.
