Russian Federation Bronze Horseman - Peter the Great Statue
The statue of Peter the First is for sure the symbol of St Petersburg. The area is just beautiful all around - Neva river (it would be just outside the frame in the direction of where the statue is looking), a park with lots of greenery and St. Isaac's Cathedral.
Photography Tips
A wide-angle lens is a must-have for this shot. You will need at least 24mm for this kind of composition. The lens I used was the Sony 16-35mm f/4 and I was at 16mm.
This partucular shot is taken during sunrise at around 5am and I was lucky to get the most fantastic sky!

Travel Information
The nearest metro station is Admiralteyskaya. Then it's a 10 minutes walk to the location. I would not recommend driving in central St Petersburg as it's not worth it, it's better to enjoy the beauty of the city then trying to find a place to park a car :-)
